Itinerary


Your adventure begins with your arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park. After settling into your accommodation, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax and soak in the stunning views of the park. As the sun sets, enjoy a campfire dinner under the African sky, a perfect start to your safari journey.


Wake up early for a morning game drive across the vast savannah plains of the park. You’ll have the chance to see a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalos, and Uganda Kobs. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometer long natural channel linking Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise offers excellent opportunities for bird watching and for viewing the abundant wildlife that comes to the water’s edge.


On the third day, you’ll venture into the Kyambura Gorge for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking experience. The gorge, dubbed the “Valley of Apes”, is home to a variety of wildlife, but most notably, a family of habituated chimpanzees. Tracking these playful creatures through the gorge is a highlight of any visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park.


Head to the southern sector of the park, Ishasha, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Seeing these majestic creatures lounging in the branches of fig trees is a sight to behold. Spend the rest of the day exploring this unique area of the park, with its open savannah and stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Location

Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in western Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. The park covers an area of about 1,978 square kilometers and is bordered to the west by Lake Edward and the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and to the north by the Rwenzori Mountains.
