Itinerary
Your journey begins with your arrival at Murchison Falls National Park. Spend the day settling in, exploring the surroundings of your accommodation, and preparing for the adventure ahead. You might choose to explore the vibrant local markets or simply rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Wake up early for a morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park, where you will have chances of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. For the birders amongst you, these areas support the secretary bird, black chested snake eagle, tawny and marshal eagles carmine and swallow-tailed bee-eaters, to pick just a few. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. En route, you will see hippos, crocodiles, waterbuck, and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork.
This day is dedicated to a close look at the falls. After breakfast, embark on a hike to the top of the stunning Murchison Falls, where you can witness the Nile’s beauty perfected! Watch the Nile force its way through a gorge and drop over 40 meters, transforming into a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, and buffaloes. The flora and fauna at the banks of the river will be a rewarding experience.
After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll depart Murchison Falls National Park, carrying memories and photographs of an unforgettable wildlife experience. Location
Murchison Falls National Park is located in the northwestern part of Uganda. The park covers approximately 3,893 square kilometers and is split into two sections, the northern and southern sectors, by the Victoria Nile River. The park is renowned for its unique biodiversity, with a wide variety of flora and fauna that can’t be found anywhere else in the world.
